Description
Fitz Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the late 17th century, with a 20th-century extension added to the north. The building is constructed of dressed limestone and features a thatched roof with gable-end brick stacks. It is two stories tall and has two windows on the front facade.
The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door set in a gabled porch, which leads to a single-story extension made of Flemish bond brick on the right. To the left of the porch, there is a three-light casement window and a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned window with hoodmoulds. On the first floor, there are two three-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows. The roof has coped verges, and the right side of the building features a recessed chamfered light in the attic.
At the rear, there are two two-light mullioned windows on the ground floor, and a one-light recessed chamfered window that lights the stairs. The first floor has two two-light casements. The left extension includes a planked door along with one-light and two-light casements, and there is a 20th-century concrete block extension on the left return.
Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams with stepped stops, a blocked open fireplace with a chamfered lintel, planked doors with strap hinges, and winding stairs against the rear wall.
