Description
Coldharbour Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century, with additions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a steeply pitched thatched roof, with brick stacks at the ridge and ends.
The farmhouse has a 2-unit plan that has been extended to a 3-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a four-window range. The entrance is located off-centre to the left and features a plank door with a wood lintel. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light wood casement windows and one 3-light wood casement window, all with wood lintels. The first floor has a 2-light wood casement window and three 3-light wood casement windows, also with wood lintels.
Inside, the farmhouse includes inglenook fireplaces with chamfered bressumers, one of which has a bread oven. There is a stop-chamfered beam, and a room on the east side has a lowered floor and a 19th-century fireplace, likely serving as a wash house. The interior features a wood winder staircase, plank doors with strap hinges, and stone flag floors.
