Description
Mixbury Lodge Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 19th and 20th-century additions and alterations. The earliest part of the house is constructed of squared coursed limestone with ironstone dressings. It has steeply pitched red-tile roofs, paired brick ridge and end stacks, and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The house follows a T-plan, with later additions. The main part of the house has two storeys plus an attic. Most of the stone mullion windows have been replaced with casements or 20th-century windows. A single-light stone-framed window with a hood mould and label stop is located in the attic. A gabled roof dormer is found in the rear wing. A 19th-century addition is constructed of stucco with a slate roof and rendered end stacks, featuring a central staircase plan. This addition is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The central entrance has a panelled door with a hood, flanked by bay windows. The first floor of the 19th-century addition has three sashes with keyblock heads and shutters. The interior was not inspected. The house is situated on the west side of Fulwell Road.
