Description

The Church of All Saints is a Grade II* listed church located on Church Lane in Mixbury. The church features a chancel and nave dating back to the 12th century, with a north aisle and west tower added in the 13th century. The rest of the church was rebuilt in the 1840s by George Wyatt of Oxford, which included the chancel arch. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble and squared, coursed limestone, topped with steeply pitched lead roofs and stone coped gables.

The church comprises a nave, chancel, north aisle, vestry, south porch, and west tower, with a five-window range. The chancel has a three-light geometrical east window and a pointed arched priest's doorway on the south, flanked by two-light Decorated windows, with similar windows on the north side. The north aisle features 19th-century Decorated style windows. The nave's north side has three two-light Perpendicular clerestory windows, while the nave itself has three restored two-light Decorated windows and three two-light Perpendicular clerestory windows.

The south porch is gabled, and the south doorway from the 12th century displays two orders of zig-zag decoration on scalloped capitals. The west tower, which has three stages, is built in the Perpendicular style with diagonal buttresses and a crenellated parapet, featuring two-light Perpendicular windows that are louvred at the bell stage. The 19th-century chancel includes stained glass by O'Connor, created around 1850-1860. Inside, there is a decorated three-bay north arcade, along with 19th-century roofs, pews, and font. The church also features an alabaster pulpit and a brass eagle lectern.
