Description

The memorial stands at the edge of All Saints’ churchyard. It comprises a limestone cross, c4m high, with an octagonal shaft standing on a plinth, on a two-stage base. A blind arcade of three gothic arches is carved on each side of the plinth. Each face of the plinth frames inscriptions in these arches:

(first face) GREATER LOVE/ HATH NO MAN THAN THIS

(second face) (3 NAMES)

(third face) TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918.

(fourth face) 1939 – 1945 (2 NAMES)
