Description
Post Office Cottages are semi-detached cottages dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. They are constructed of rubble stone and dressed limestone, topped with a thatched roof and featuring gable-end brick stacks. The cottages are one storey with an attic and have three windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door, with a six-pane sash window on either side in horizontal openings. The attic contains three small-paned two-light casements. The right side of the building is windowless and has an attached lean-to post office, which is rendered and has a slate roof. The rear of the cottages features two planked doors along with two-light and three-light casements; the entrance to No 2 is located at the rear. The interior was not inspected. A 20th-century lean-to post office is attached to the right side but is not of special interest.
