Description

This milestone, dated 1840, was made by Carson and Miller of Warminster, as indicated by the makers' plate showing "C & M over W; 1840." It is constructed of cast iron and features a moulded pyramidal cap and raised lettering. The milestone is positioned against the farmyard wall of Parsonage Farm and displays the distances to Warminster Town Hall, which is 1 mile away, and Bratton, which is 5 miles away.
