Description

The Ferns is a good example of an early 19th-century detached cottage. It is two storeys high and built of coursed rubble, with brick quoins and a brick break on the right-hand side. Brick dressings and stone lintels are also present. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with two on the first floor and one on the ground floor. A six-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed, is located on the left-hand side, and is covered by a small metal hood. The roof is shallow-pitched and half-hipped, with gable ends and chimneys.
