Description
The pavilion located to the north-east of Portway House is a two-storey garden house, likely built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick with rustic stone quoins, featuring a string course over the ground floor, which is stone fronted to the road. The building has a moulded cornice and a parapet. Each of its three sides includes a central glazing bar sash window on the first floor, and there is a door on the fourth side, which is accessed by external moulded stone steps with wrought iron railings.
To the south of the pavilion, there is a wall approximately 6 feet high, made of coursed and squared rubble, extending about 30 yards in length. The wall to the north, which separates the pavilion from the gates, is constructed of brick with a stone base, measuring about 50 yards long and 12 feet high, sloping down to gate piers that are also made of brick and topped with ball finials.
