Description

The entrance screen to No 45 (Yard House) is a mid-19th century structure made of ashlar stone, standing on a plinth. It features a large, three-centred elliptical-headed gateway adorned with rustic voussoirs and panelled pilasters. A lion rampant is depicted on the key, and there is a cornice and blocking course above, flanked by panelled antefixes. The entrance includes wide, twelve-panel doors. Moulding at the impost level extends over a short wall on each side, with a cornice and blocking course above. To the left, there is an elliptical-headed doorway. The structure is complemented by a brick quadrant wall with a ramped cope that angles towards No 45.
