Description
No. 10 East Street is an early 19th-century building that has been altered. It is three storeys high and constructed of ashlar stone, featuring a moulded eaves cornice that returns to the west. The upper floors have three ranges of glazing bar sash windows, with the second floor having late-glazed windows. The ground floor showcases a mid-Victorian shop front, framed by panelled pilasters with carved caps and four cast iron colonnettes with floral caps, along with a recessed entrance. To the left of the entrance is a doorway with a six-panel door and a flat hood supported by moulded brackets that spring from crocket capitals on engaged columns. At the rear, there is a very large irregular two-storey extension made of coursed and squared rubble, featuring tile roofs and glazing bar windows.
