Description
Nos 1 and 3 Bondgate Without is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features three windows on each floor. The exterior is made of ashlar stone with eaves courses, topped by a slate roof that has coped verges, three kneelers, and three red brick chimneys. The windows are glazing bar sash types, with casements on the second floor.
No 1 has a central six-panel door, where the top two panels are glazed and the lower four are raised and fielded. This door is adorned with a segmental store hood supported by cusped cut brackets. No 3 features a depressed arch leading to a through passage; the original central door has been converted into a window, with the entrance now located at the rear of the passage. A central rainwater pipe is present, with a Percy Crescent design on the head. Additionally, there is a Victorian wall letterbox located in the wall to the left of No 1, which faces a coachyard that includes a two-storey converted stable building with two windows.
