Description
9 and 11 Bailiffgate is an early 19th-century building featuring two storeys with five windows at No 9 and three windows at No 11. The front is made of ashlar stone and includes a plinth, a cill course for the first-floor windows, and a moulded cornice. The roof is slate, and there are two brick chimneys. The windows are glazing bar sash types. To the left of No 9, there is a large elliptical archway. Both entrances have six-panel doors topped with Tudor hoodmoulds, although the central door at No 9 is blocked and has been converted into a window. There are steps leading to the doorways, with cast iron railings that are patterned at No 11. Additionally, there is a secondary six-panel door to the right of No 11, which features a spoked fanlight. On the east side of No 9, there is another six-panel door with pointed glazing above in a rectangular light.
