Description

The West Wing of the Convent of the Sisters of Mercy is an 18th-century building located on Bailiffgate. It is constructed of ashlar stone and stands three storeys high with an attic. The façade features five windows, each with cill strings on every floor, and an eaves band beneath the slate roof. The windows are late glazed sash types. Notably, the building bears the Newcastle Fire Insurance mark No 4855 and includes two hipped gable dormers.
