Description
No 88 (Foxglove Cottage), No 89, and No 90 are three cottages in one block located on the east side of Sunton in Collingbourne Ducis. They date from the 17th century and later. The cottages are timber framed, now mostly rendered, with thatched roofs and are single storey with an attic.
No 88 consists of two bays and features a boarded door set in a heavy moulded frame. It has 19th-century paned timber windows and two flush dormers, with a central stack positioned to the right of the entrance. The internal partitions are timber framed.
No 89 is also two bays wide, with a door located at the left end beneath an open timber porch. It has three-light timber windows and one flush dormer.
No 90 displays some exposed restored framing at the upper level, which returns at the end. It features simple oriel windows on the ground floor and one flush dormer, along with a lean-to at the rear. The interior of No 89 includes timber framed partitions and a brick stack in the second bay, which retains the remains of an oven. The interior of No 90 has not been seen.
