Description

Bourneside Peppercorn Cottage is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It is constructed of flint with stone quoins, and the front is finished in colourwashed brick, topped with a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and five bays. The entrances are located in the first and third bays, featuring 20th-century brick porches. The windows, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, have segmental headed openings on the ground floor. A datestone between the third and fourth bays reads H/ I + C / 1735. At the rear, there is a brick laced outshut beneath the continuation of the roof, which is hipped. Inside No 102, there is a deep open fireplace with an oven on the right, along with a chamfered spine beam and joists. The interior of No 101 has not been seen.
