Description
No. 22 and No. 24/26 on High Street are two cottages, originally three, dating from the 17th century and remodeled in the 18th century. The cottages are constructed of rendered brick and topped with a hipped pantile roof, featuring a single rendered stack above the doorway of No. 24/26. They stand two stories tall and include a first-floor band.
No. 22 has two bays and a doorway with a half-glazed door, an overlight, and two small wooden consoles that support an entablature extending over a bow window, which is further supported on the right by an additional console. No. 24/26 has three bays, with a central doorway that features a 20th-century door flanked by single 20th-century glazing bar casements. Above this doorway are three more 20th-century glazing bar casements. Inside, various visible timbers may indicate the survival of a timber frame.
