Description

The Hawkins Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St James, positioned 4 metres south of the chancel. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded table and base, with recessed corner pilasters and fielded side and end panels. It commemorates Thomas Hawkins, who died in 1836, and his wife Marianne, who died in 1824.
