Description
The Alexander Keiller Museum, originally built as stables for Avebury Manor in the 18th century, has served as a museum of local antiquities since 1938. The building is constructed from sarsen stone and features a stone tiled roof. It has seven window bays, including two boarded doors and five 2-light timber windows with leaded glazing. There are flush relieving arches above the openings. The south gable includes a tall window, which has been subdivided by a floor, and a clock tower topped with a hexagonal timber bellcote and leaded roof, complete with a wind vane. A dormer was added at the north end in 1938.
