Description
The Hawkins Monument is a chest tomb located about 12 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. Bartholomew in Corsham. It dates from around 1840 and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features a single plaque on each side, baluster corners, a moulded base, a cornice, and a ridged capstone. The inscription on the south side commemorates S. Hawkins, who died in 1837.
