Description
Riverdale Cottage is a Grade II listed building consisting of two detached cottages that have been joined together to form a single dwelling. It dates from the late 17th century and is constructed of dressed limestone with a thatched roof. The front cottage features a half-hipped roof, while the rear cottage has a hipped roof, both with brick stacks. The building is single storey with an attic and has a one-windowed facade with casement windows. The entrance is located at the rear, featuring a 20th-century door within a 20th-century porch that connects the two original cottages. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light casements, and a single-light casement is found in the attic. The west gable includes a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement in the attic. The road-facing side has a single top-hung casement and a 3-light casement to the right, along with an eyebrow dormer that contains a 2-light casement. The rear cottage is two-storey and also features casement windows. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams.
