No. 1 is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century, located on the south side of Church Street in Wylye. The building features a chequered flint and chalk exterior and a thatched roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. It is two stories tall and has two windows, with casements throughout. The entrance is a six-panelled door located to the right of the center, sheltered by a thatched porch. On either side of the door are three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements. The first floor has two three-light mullioned casements.
To the left, there is a 20th-century weatherboarded garage attached, and to the right, there is a 19th-century rubblestone extension. The rear of the cottage features two two-light casements on both the ground and first floors. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with plain stops, which is stamped with a crown and the date 1551, as well as an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel set on stone jambs.
