Description
This stable and cart house, located 10 meters southeast of No 6 on Brook Street in Great Bedwyn, is now used as a garage and store. It features 350 mm cob on brick and flint sills, with part of the structure refaced in brick in 1947. The building has a thatched roof that is half hipped at the gables and consists of four bays. There is a 20th-century garage door facing the road, while the original cart entrance at the rear has been blocked. Inside, the structure includes queen posts supporting timber purlins. Cob buildings are quite rare in northeast Wiltshire.
