Description

The Wharf is a cottage located in Great Bedwyn on Frog Lane, dating from the 18th century and early 19th century, with possible elements from the 17th century. It features colourwashed brick and a thatched roof, and is a single storey with an attic, comprising three bays along with a short rear wing and lean-tos on the left and rear. To the right, there is a range of stabling that was used for coal draught horses, which is now converted into a garage and storage spaces. The building likely started as a two-bay house, with the first bay added beyond the gable stack in the 18th century. It has tripartite leaded windows with boarded shutters and 18th-century iron casements. Inside, there are spine beams.
