Description
Walnut Cottages are two cottages dating from the 18th century, located on the north-east side of Brook Street in Great Bedwyn. They are constructed of brick and feature a thatched roof. The cottages are single storey with an attic and consist of four bays. The front has 20th-century gabled brick porches with stable doors. The windows are also from the 20th century, designed as timber casements with segmental heads on the ground floor. The building was extended to the right in 18th-century diaper brickwork, and the left gable was rebuilt in the 20th century. The thatch extends over four dormers and has a half-hipped design on the right side. There is a 20th-century lean-to at the rear. The left gable has a stack, and there is a stack on the party wall, both of which have been rebuilt.
