Description
These are a group of four early 19th-century townhouses, numbered 3 to 6 Sidmouth Street. The buildings are constructed of red brick, although numbers 5 and 6 have been painted. Stone sill courses run along the first and second floors, and there’s an eaves band to the gable end, which is covered with a slate roof. Each house originally had one window, with recessed sash windows; the glazing bars remain intact only on number 4. Later 19th-century shop fronts have been added to the ground floor. Number 5 retains its original five-panel door, above which is a very narrow, rectangular fanlight. Numbers 1 to 10 form a group.
