Description

The Redman memorial is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 13 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St Michael in Melksham. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features large oval fielded panels on both sides, adorned with cherubs and carved drapery. It has quarter balusters at the corners, a plinth, a frieze decorated with stylised flowers, and a corniced top. The memorial commemorates John Redman, who died in 1784.
