Description
The Bruges monument is a square pedestal tomb located within a circular railed enclosure against the south wall of the south aisle of the Church of St. Michael. This early 19th-century structure features a limestone tomb adorned with marble panels on each side, set on a plinth with projecting corner pilasters. It has a deep cornice and a marble finial at the top. The enclosure is surrounded by good cast iron spearhead railings that stand on tall feet. The monument commemorates Thomas Bruges, who died in 1835.
