Description
This milestone, located approximately 150 meters north-west of Widbrook Bridge on Trowbridge Road (A363), dates back to the late 18th century and is attributed to the Bradford Turnpike Trust. The stone is rectangular in shape with an arched top. It features a rectangular cast-iron plate that has the incised wording "TO / BATH / 9" in black lettering. The stone shows signs of having broken in half at some point, just below the plate, and has since been repaired.
