Description
The garden seat with portico, dating from the 18th century, is located in the grounds to the east of the Hall. It may have been repositioned against a rocky outcrop. The portico is made of ashlar stone with coursed rubble at the rear and features a stone slab roof. It includes an entablature and a plain pediment supported by four Tuscan columns and two pilasters. At the apex of the pediment is a carved stone eagle, with carved stone acorns on either side. The side walls of the portico have two Tudor style windows. At the rear, there are 19th century carved blocks, one depicting a pelican in her piety and the other featuring stiff-leaf foliage. The Hall is part of a group that includes its terraces, walls, gatepiers, balustrades, two garden seats, and the wall surrounding the grounds.
