Description
This is a mid-to-late 19th-century terrace, originally known as Victoria Terrace, forming a group with the garden wall. The terrace is two storeys plus an attic and basement, constructed from ashlar. Pilasters divide the front elevation. A stringcourse runs along the facade, and the ground floor is partly treated with banded rustication. The roof is hipped, covered with slate, and features two wooden dormers with paired round-headed windows and bargeboards with pinnacles. The dormer roofs have deeply projecting eaves supported by moulded brackets. Sash windows with thin glazing bars are set in plain reveals on the upper floor. The ground floor windows have round-headed lights in pairs or threes, with projecting surrounds. Two doorways, numbered as Nos 2 and 3, are distinguished by an entablature and pediment with a finial, supported by pilasters flanking the door. The doors are six-panel wooden doors with rectangular fanlights above. A garden wall runs along the street, built from rusticated blocks and supporting an openwork balustrade incorporating a circular motif. Four pairs of gatepiers feature entablatures and copings. Steps lead up inside the wall to the terrace level.
