Description
This is a probably early 19th century building on St Margaret's Street. It is two storeys high and constructed of ashlar stone. A stringcourse runs along the facade, and the roof is covered in pantiles. The building has two windows with intact glazing bars in the casement windows. The front door is set two steps above ground level and consists of three panels, with the upper two panels glazed, over a rectangular fanlight. A 19th century shop window is located to the right, featuring a fascia. The building has an entablature with a dentilled cornice, supported by two volutes on moulded pilasters. The building is included on the list for its group value, alongside other buildings on Frome Road and St Margaret’s Street, including The Three Horseshoes, the Liberal Club, the Baptist Chapel, the Congregational Church and Hall, Westbury House, and numbers 1 to 4 and 6 to 16, 19 to 22, 36, and 42 to 49.
