Donhead Hall Farmhouse With Attached Wall And Railings

Donhead Hall Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Front Horse Hill Lane in Donhead St. Mary. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick with limestone quoins and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, with brick stacks at the gable ends. It is two stories high and has three windows across the front. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door topped by a flat wooden hood supported by cast-iron brackets, with a 16-pane sash window on either side. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows flanking a blocked window above the door. Lean-to extensions are attached to both the left and right sides of the farmhouse. The rear of the building is rendered and includes two-light casement windows and a planked door. The interior has not been inspected. To the left of the front of the farmhouse, there are attractive stone dwarf walls with pitched coping and spearhead railings, along with square gate piers topped with pyramidal caps and double cast-iron gates.
