Description
Horsehill Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a thatched roof with a hip to the right and brick stacks. The cottage has a central baffle entry and is two storeys high with three windows.
On the ground floor, there is a blocked doorway to the left of the center, a three-light casement window to the left, and a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement with a small fixed window to the right. The first floor includes a three-light casement window and a two-light mullioned casement in a former full dormer, along with a two-light wooden mullioned casement to the right, with the eaves raised. The right side of the cottage has a three-light casement window on the first floor, while the left side features a single-storey lean-to extension with two-light casements, a six-panelled door, and a pantiled roof.
At the rear, there is a 20th-century porch, along with two-light casements and a two-light mullioned casement on the first floor. Inside, the cottage has an open fireplace with a timber lintel on stone jambs, deeply chamfered beams with ovolo stops, and planked doors.
