Description

The Mill House is a mid-18th century house with an attached former mill. It has been altered in the 20th century. The house is constructed of dressed limestone with a hipped tiled roof and an axial brick stack. The front of the house has a central lobby entry and is two storeys high with three windows. A central six-panelled door is flanked by sixteen-pane sash windows. The first floor has a two-light casement window on either side of a blocked window. The right return shows 19th century two-light casements, and 20th century casements to the rear, where the former mill is located. The left return has a two-light casement window to the first floor. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a renewed lintel on stone jambs, and a staircase on the side of the stack in the lobby. Planked doors are also present. The mill was partially converted to house in the 1970s and now has a partially missing roof; it retains a cast iron waterwheel and gearing.
