Description
Lower Bridmore Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the first quarter of the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed limestone and features a hipped tiled roof with limestone and rendered brick stacks. The building has two storeys, a basement, and an attic, with three windows on the front facade.
The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set on stone steps, surrounded by panelled reveals in a chamfered stone case. On either side of the door are three-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows. The basement includes a chamfered plinth and a five-light mullioned window to the right of the door. A plat band runs along the first floor, where there is a two-light mullioned window flanked by three-light windows on each side.
The steeply pitched hipped roof features two hipped dormers with two-light casements and a coved cornice. The right return of the building has two-light casements on both the ground and first floors, while the left return has a blocked chamfered mullioned window on the left side. At the rear, there are three-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows on either side of a central 19th-century porch that is attached to an earlier outhouse. The first floor at the rear has a plat band and three two-light mullioned windows, along with one 20th-century dormer in the roof.
Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams with stepped stops, open fireplaces with chamfered lintels, and six-panelled doors. The first floor includes bolection-moulded fireplaces.
