Description
Whitecliff Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1700, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled two-span roof with gable end brick stacks. The building has a parallel range plan and is two storeys high with three windows on the front facade.
The central entrance door has six fielded panels set in a stone chamfered case and is sheltered by a 19th-century gabled stone porch accessed by steps. On either side of the door are three-light recessed mullioned casements. To the right, there is a basement with two blocked ovolo-mullioned casements and a chamfered plinth. A plat band runs along the first floor, which has a central two-light mullioned casement flanked by three-light casements.
The right side of the building features a two-light leaded casement in the attic and an attached 20th-century garage and kitchen extension. The left side has a two-light casement in the attic. The rear of the farmhouse includes a 20th-century glazed door and casements, while the first floor has three two-light casements and a 20th-century light.
Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams, stone square fireplaces, and planked doors with strap hinges in the rear range. The front of the house features four-panelled doors and plain oak stairs.
