Description
Cross Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble stone with a thatched roof and brick stacks, featuring a cross wing to the west. The south front is two-storey with four windows. There is a planked door in the gabled cross wing on the left, with a 2-light casement window above it. To the right, there are four 2-light casements, and three 2-light casements are located on the first floor. Attached to the right is a lean-to extension with a pantiled roof. The left side has a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor and three leaded casements on the first floor. The rear of the cottage features 3-light and 2-light casements, along with a 20th-century extension with a thatched roof in the center. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with run-out stops, a well-crafted moulded plank and muntin partition, an open fireplace with a cambered chamfered lintel, and planked doors with wooden latches. A cellar is located below the 17th-century range.
