Description

This is a semi-detached cottage located on Salisbury Road in Hindon. It dates to the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century. The front of the cottage is built with English bond brickwork, while the returns and rear are of dressed limestone. It has a tiled roof with a hip to the left side and a brick stack on the right. The two-storey, two-window front features three 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor; the central one is located within a blocked doorway, and a single casement is on the right. There is a single-course brick sill and a band to the first floor, above which are two 3-light casement windows. The left return has a 20th-century door and one first-floor casement. The rear elevation includes an outshut with a 20th-century door and casement windows. Inside, the cottage has 4-panelled doors and an open fireplace with a timber lintel set in brick jambs.
