Description
Albany House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof and features gable end brick stacks. The building is two stories high and has three windows with sash frames. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door topped by a flat wooden hood supported by slender wooden shafts. There are canted bays with 12-pane sash windows on either side of the door, and the first floor also has three 12-pane sash windows. The roof has deep eaves with paired brackets. On the left side, there are single casement windows on both the ground and first floors. A late 19th-century parallel range at the rear includes sash windows, while a rear wing has been largely rebuilt in the 20th century. Inside, the house features four-panelled doors, a staircase with stick balusters and Tuscan newels, original fireplace surrounds, and window shutters.
