Description
The Old Forge is a semi-detached house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of painted English bond brick and features chamfered rusticated quoins. The roof is tiled, with a hip on the right side and brick stacks at the rear. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with three windows. To the left, there is a large cart entry with a timber lintel supported by stone quoins, while to the right are two 12-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there is a pair of 8-pane sashes above the cart entry and two more 12-pane sashes to the right. The house also has one hipped attic dormer with 2-light casements. The main entrance is through a 20th-century door located in the cart entry, and the rear wing features 3-light casements. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in December 1985.
