Description

The Hare and Hounds Inn is a 17th-century building that has been altered. It is two storeys high, with a painted brick ground floor and a timber-framed upper part that is pebbledashed. The gable end features a modern pantile roof, and the eaves are concealed by a parapet with a moulded wood cornice coping. On the first floor, there is one tripartite window and one paired window, both of which have been modernised. The ground floor includes one plain door, a tripartite window, a six-panel door set within an architrave surround topped with a flat hood on cut brackets, and a paired window to the right, which has no glazing bars and block sills. There are also cellar gratings. The building is part of a group with Nos 2 to 26 (even).
