No. 53 Southbroom Road is a building from the early to mid 19th century, located at the corner of a row with a return front. It is two storeys high and constructed of painted brick. The building features pilasters on both fronts and has a low pitch hipped slate roof. There are small consoled plaques in the center of both fronts on the first floor. The first floor has a small window facing the street and another at the end of the return front on the ground floor, both of which are sash windows in flush frames.
