Description

No. 51 Southbroom Road is an early 19th-century pair of cottages. The building is two storeys high and constructed of red brick set on a rendered plinth. It features a low pitch gable end slate roof and a brick eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are three windows, with the center window being blind. The windows are recessed sashes with intact glazing bars, segmental brick arches above, and stuccoed block sills. On the ground floor, there is one sash window on the left and one on the right, with the right window having one pane wider than those on the first floor. The central passage door has an elliptical open fanlight and a brick arch above. Nos. 47 to 57 (odd) form a group with this building.
