Description
Woodbine Cottage, comprising numbers 33 and 35 Southbroom Road, is an early 19th-century building that originally comprised three houses. Constructed of red brick, it is arranged in an L-shaped plan with a projecting bay to the left. The building has a low-pitched slate roof. The main façade has two windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor, while the wing to the right has a single window facing the road and an additional window on each floor to the return front. The windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, block sills, and stucco flat arches topped with multiple keystones. An elliptical arched opening leads to the vestibule, featuring a patera on the ceiling. The front features three six-panel doors – one central and two facing each other – sheltered by a wood lattice porch with three arched openings divided by lattice panels and a lean-to slate roof. Numbers 33 to 45 (the odd numbers) form a visually cohesive group.
