Description

8 Hare and Hounds Street is an early 19th century refronting of an earlier building. The exterior is painted brick laid on a stone plinth, with a gable end pantile roof and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. There are three windows on the first floor, each recessed, with sash windows and glazing bars, block sills, and cambered arches. The ground floor has two similar windows, the left one being narrower, flanking a recessed door with four incised panels. A cornice hood is supported by long, shaped stone brackets above the door. Double garage doors are situated to the right. Cellar gratings are present. The building is part of a group with numbers 2 to 26 (even) on Hare and Hounds Street.
