Description

This is a pair of cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located on the west side of Southbroom Road. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a brick band with brick dentils marking the division between the ground and first floors. A brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is covered with pantiles and has gabled ends. Each cottage has one window on each floor, positioned near the centre of the front elevation. These are recessed windows with later glazing, flat rendered arches over them, and block sills. Modern doors are recessed towards each end of the building, also with flat rendered arches above. Nos. 47 to 57 (the odd numbers) form a group.
