Description
No. 58 in Monkton Farleigh Village is a building that originally consisted of two cottages, now combined into one. It dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. The structure is built of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with coped verges and stone stacks at the gable ends.
The building is two stories high and has a four-window front facing east. To the left of the center is a pointed planked door, with two pointed 2-light casements to the right and one to the left. On the first floor, there are four 2-light pointed casements. At the rear, there are two single-storey wings facing the road; the northern wing has a half-dormer with a 2-light casement on the south side and a half-glazed door on the north side. The southern wing features a half-dormer on the south side and a planked door on the north side. The rear of the main range has a blocked doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
