Description
No. 4 Station Road is a cottage that was originally two cottages, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof, with artificial stone slates at the rear. There are stone ridge stacks on each side, which are shared with the adjoining cottages. The building is a single range with a large 20th-century rear extension, and it has a single storey and an attic.
The front of the cottage has three gables, each with a single plate glass light and a timber lintel, along with small square openings at the apex that have been blocked with brick. On the ground floor, there are four small 2-light casements with timber lintels, two of which are located within former doorways. The current central doorway is likely to have originally been a window opening. To the left, there is a small plain glass newel light.
