Description
Cross House is a detached house located on the corner of High Street in South Cerney, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from random coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof, with a large stone ridge stack and an end stack at the rear, as well as a brick end stack on the blind gable facing the street. The building has an 'L' shaped layout, with a front range that is two storeys high and includes an attic, a two-storey rear wing, and an additional lower rear wing.
The angle facade facing High Street has a four-pane sash window on both the first and ground floors, along with scattered casement windows elsewhere. There is a vertical battened door at the angle, which is sheltered by a raking porch hood supported by a strut. The facade facing east onto Ham Lane features two windows, which are two and three-light casements with timber lintels.
